GSI Congratulates Amazon on New Spokane Distribution Facility

Greater Spokane Incorporated congratulates Amazon on the launch of their customer fulfillment center to be constructed on Geiger Blvd. on the West Plains, near the Spokane International Airport. The distribution facility, with a footprint of over 600,000 square feet, anticipated multiple levels, and situated on an 80-acre panel, will house merchandise to be packaged and shipped for customer orders.

“Amazon will be one of the largest businesses in the Spokane region, with an anticipated 1,800-3,000 new jobs. It’s significant for the Spokane community to be home to a company that is in the top ten list of Fortune 500 companies,” said Todd Mielke, CEO, Greater Spokane Incorporated. “This is good news for Spokane.  We extend a warm welcome to them and look forward to demonstrating why this region is a great place to locate a business. Hopefully they will consider this region for other Amazon business functions.”

GSI provided assistance with the evaluation of local and state incentives and identified available workforce. Many community partners and organizations came together to support and win this project.

GSI, in collaboration with other business partners have been working over the last two years to capture the company’s attention, including submitting a proposal for their second corporate campus, Amazon HQ2.
