(SPOKANE, Wash.) – Greater Spokane Inc. (GSI) has promoted Cassidy Peterson to the role of Director of Education and Talent. Peterson has served as Career Connected Learning Program Manager and Education and Talent Program Coordinator at GSI, leading career connected learning initiatives, programs and projects such as Business AfterSchool and Teaching the Teachers.

“We are proud to have Cassidy lead this important effort. As the Spokane region’s business development organization, talent remains a key factor companies look at when deciding to relocate or expand their business,” said Alisha Benson, CEO, Greater Spokane Inc. “It is critical for the success of local businesses and to create a healthy and thriving economy.”

In her new role, Peterson will focus on strengthening business engagement and partnerships with K-12 and higher education communities to build, champion and retain a talented workforce.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this work as Director of Education & Talent Development at GSI,” said Peterson. “When I first joined GSI in 2016, I honestly didn’t realize how integral this work is to building and sustaining a thriving community. When business and education work together across systems, the whole region benefits. I look forward to continuing our current partnerships and beginning new ones, because together we are truly greater.”
