Greater Talent – Cultivating, Creating, Assisting

Did you know that finding talent is an issue for employers around the world? In a recent survey, nearly 73% of employers reported struggling to find skilled candidates; 45% of employers are concerned about finding the right talent for their organization. Talent fuels business growth, and our Greater Talent team works to provide opportunities for students and adults to train to meet the needs of employers in our region.

But it’s more than just training skilled workers; it’s also about cultivating partnerships between business and education. It’s learning from employers what their talent needs are, connecting employers with educators so they can inform their students, creating programs that get students interested in new career paths, and assisting working adults to get the training they need to advance their career.

Education and advocacy are also connected. GSI hosts several committees that support economic development, public policy and education in our region, along with supporting bonds and levies through an Education Grows Economies campaign.

Visit our Greater Talent page for more information about the specific programs and goals that fuel GSI’s vision of a thriving business community and stay tuned for more information about our Greater Talent programs in upcoming newsletters.
