Spokane Ag Expo wraps up a successful 2018 show

After three days, hundreds of exhibitors and vendors, and thousands of attendees, the Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest Farm Forum are in the books.

Throughout the Feb. 6-8 show, the exhibit halls of the Spokane Convention Center were filled with professionals and visiting students alike, taking in the sights and learning. Dozens of workshops provided updates of some of the latest trends in the agriculture industry, and also offered certification courses for farmers.

The Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest Farm Forum is produced each year by Greater Spokane Incorporated and its AgriBusiness Committee, along with numerous volunteers who make the event possible.

Each year, Thursday places an emphasis on students and encouraging them to pursue a career in agriculture. This year’s speaker was Amberley Snyder, a barrel racer and inspirational speaker who shared her story of working her way back to racing after a tragic accident that left her paralyzed below the waist.

The 2018 show also marked the final time with Myrna O’Leary at the helm. She received several accolades throughout the run of the show, and including features in The Spokesman-Review and Capital Press. Next year, GSI’s Heather Hamlin will move into the role of Ag Expo Show Director.
