EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE COMMITTEES

GSI regularly convenes Education and Workforce committees to drive forward initiatives that support education and a skilled workforce.  Contact Meg Lindsay, Director of Education and Workforce, GSI  and Executive Director, Spokane STEM for more information or if you'd like to participate on a committee.

K-12 Roundtable links K-12 leadership closely with business and industry to improve understanding of employer needs and to work together to develop solutions.

Meets: 1st Monday of every other month during the school year, October to June, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. Co-chairs: Shelley Redinger, Spokane Public Schools and Bruce Williams, GeoEngineers


Health Care Committee promotes a comprehensive and integrated system of health care delivery, educational programs, and skilled workforce for the Inland Northwest.

Meets: 3rd Tuesday of every other month, 7:30-8:45 a.m. Chair: Kim Hagerty,Umpqua Bank


Health Industry Development Group is for C-level leaders in the health industry, working to link the health sciences industry to advocacy (public policy) and drive economic development in our region.

Meets: 1st Tuesday of every other month at 7:30-8:45 a.m. Chair: Bill Bouten, Bouten Construction


Higher Education Leadership Group (HELG) is a national model of collaboration among higher education institutions and the business community. Members of this committee are Chancellor's and Presidents of our regional higher education institutions and universities amd leaders of businesses in our community.  This committee meets by invitation only. Co-Chairs: Dr. Beck Taylor, Whitworth University and Stacey Cowles, Spokesman Review.
