Business AfterSchool: Fairchild Air Force Base Communications




**** Attendees (both high school students and adults) will need to provide full name, full SSN, and date of birth by 1/23/18 to be allowed on base. Once you are fully registered for this workshop, we will be in touch with you via email to schedule a phone call to collect this information. ****

This tour will feature two sessions. One session will focus on communication within the Air Force, both from an officer and enlisted perspective. Also covered will be the growing need/importance of communication/cyber in the military and across the globe. Work centers visits will also be conducted to get an idea of what day to day operations looks like. The other session will focus on the internet, how it works and what goes on behind the "magic curtain." This session will also include a guided course/lab where students will build and test a small/local network. This will help explain how game consoles, phones, and computers are connected and communicate instantly across the world. Each session will be approximately 1 hr. half the students will attend session 1 while the other half attend sessions 2, then students will swap sessions.

This workshop is designed specifically for high school students.


Business AfterSchool is a series of industry skill workshops, providing on-site awareness of Spokane's high-demand industry sectors byhighlighting new technology, research, development and innovation. Engage in career awareness for our region's students, families and community, showcasing the highly valued occupations and employment paths our industries incorporate. These workshops bring students, parents, educators, and business into the workplace for a real-time visit to see these industries in action.
