Join us to learn about the Roadmap to Healthcare and how all of the programs at WSU Spokane apply to careers in the health science industry!
The complexities of health science programs and opportunities is one of the largest barriers in preventing young adults from pursuing a career in the healthcare industry. Come learn about how to alleviate these complexities by understanding the interprofessional nature of health sciences and the academic preparation needed to successfully enter these careers. Highlights include WSU Spokane's higher education programs and pathways, research opportunities that bolster healthcare industries, and opportunity to hear from a panel of local startup healthcare businesses.
The goal of this workshop is to give a snapshot of the "Roadmap to Healthcare" by identifying the common preparation needed for all health sciences that branch off to different disciplines and careers. This workshop prepares you to better advise and guide your students to the healthcare career that may be right for them.
: What was once a decrepit rail yard is now a beautiful, 48-acre health sciences campus on the east edge of downtown Spokane. Sitting along the Spokane River, the WSU Health Sciences Spokane campus is a growing and important piece of Spokane's identity. In 2010, the WSU Board of Regents officially designated WSU Spokane as the university's health sciences campus. It continues to grow, including the recent opening of a four-year medical school on campus.
Educators are free (GSI* will provide 3.5 clock hours; pre-registration is required)
