Cathy McMorris Rogers

Cathy McMorris Rodgers is the highest-ranking Republican woman in Congress — a position she uses to work for Eastern Washington priorities including agriculture, rural health care, hydropower and veterans. She believes new technologies can make life better for all Americans and transform government, making it more open and efficient. In 2012, Cathy was chosen by her colleagues to be House Republican Conference Chair; she previously served as Conference Vice-Chair from 2008 to 2012 and Congressional liaison to Mitt Romney’s 2012 Presidential campaign. Washington's 5th District first elected Cathy to Congress in 2004, and she was re-elected with over 60 percent of the vote in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014

Lisa Brown

As chancellor of Washington State University Spokane, Lisa Brown led the development of WSU’s rapidly growing, world-class center for health sciences education and research. Her efforts contributed to the successful accreditation and creation of a second public medical school in the state of Washington, expanding health care where it's needed most across Eastern Washington. After serving two terms in the state House of Representatives (1992-1996), she was elected to the Senate in 1996 and was appointed chair of the Ways and Means Committee in her first term. She was elected as minority leader in 2002 and, in 2005, became the first Democratic woman in the state to hold the position of Senate Majority Leader.
