Event Description:

**ALL FALL 2021 TEACH THE TEACHER IN PERSON WORKSHOPS HAVE BEEN POSTPONED TO SPRING 2022**

Water. It’s a critical piece of our environment and human health. However, most people really don’t understand what it takes to keep clean, safe water coming out of our taps, maintain healthy aquatic ecosystems, or provide power to our region. Join us to better understand career opportunities in the very broad and often overlooked water sector. Professionals will give insight into their occupation and the scientific and technical skills needed to do this meaningful work. Each presenter will be a future resource for you and your classes. Activities will include at least one site tour of a water management facility.

Water is the most critical resource issue of our lifetime and our children's lifetime. The health of our waters is the principal measure of how we live on the land.  -- Luna Leopold, Hydrologist

Teaching the Teachers workshops gives educators the chance to attend a workshop hosted by a local business to learn about the careers and relevant skills students need to open a pathway to their future career. Businesses provide their expertise to share a real-life look at their organization, the types of careers they employ, and the training required to successfully work in their industry. We invite you to help us build a world-class talent pipeline.

Workshops are open to all teachers, advisors, college & career readiness counselors, administrators in NEWESD 101. Clock hours will be provided to each eligible attendee.
