Spokane County Water Resource Education Center
*please note: this workshop takes place at the Spokane County Water Resource Center located at 1004 N Freya St, not the address listed above.*
High school students will learn about the state-of-the-art water reclamation facility and its innovative processes used to treat wastewater. Students will also see the complex SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system used to control almost every aspect of the process. Participants will learn the critically important process of treating wastewater then replicate portions of that process using simulated wastewater during a hands-on learning experience. Finally, a walking tour of the facility will also allow students to see the operational size and scope of the operation.
This workshop is designed specifically for high school students (including those incoming), grades 9-12 in fall 2019.
