Join Life Science Washington Institute for our December Lunch & Learn. Will Canestaro, PhD, Managing Director at WRF Capital will cover the first basic steps every entrepreneur should take when starting a company including: how to register the company, when to call the bank, what is "IP" and how do you protect it, and more! This will be an engaging and interactive session. Bring your questions!

Introducing the Speaker:

Will Canestaro, PhD, Managing Director WRF Capital

Dr. Canestaro is focused on investments in biotechnology and engineering, as well as supporting Washington Research Foundation’s grant-making activities. His portfolio includes companies across sectors. Currently, he manages WRF’s investments in Arzeda, Bellwether Bio, Phase Genomics, Icosavax, EpiThany and Wibotic. His professional background includes health economic and outcomes consulting for organizations including the National Pharmaceutical Council, Genentech and AstraZeneca. He has extensive experience with comparative effectiveness research and program development through roles with Generation Health and Correlagen in the Boston area.

Dr. Canestaro earned his doctorate from the University of Washington’s School of Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy Program. He received an MSc in medical anthropology from Oxford University and an AB in medical sociology from Dartmouth College.
