The work of Spokane STEM is supported by the staff and leadership of Greater Spokane Incorporated. As the Spokane region's leader in transformative business and community initiatives, GSI works to create something greater by connecting businesses to valuable relationships and resources. To exemplify this, GSI serves as the Network for Spokane STEM and provides STEM-centered experiences for local students and educators.
One of GSI's foundational strategies is Achieve: A strong economy depends on world-class people. In order to accomplish this, GSI has set an education attainment goal of raising the current 40% adults in Spokane County with high-quality degrees, certificates, or other credentials to 60% by 2025. This goal is directly in line with the work of Spokane STEM because of the focus in making sure students are "STEM ready" when graduating and entering the workforce.
GSI's two programs centered around STEM are Business AfterSchool and Teaching the Teachers. These programs offer unique opportunities to both students and educators in why our future workforce is key to the success of local businesses and the Spokane economy. Please visit the respective pages to learn more about each program.
