WITH SPOKANE COUNTY COMMISSIONER MARY KUNEY

Mary Kuney is the District 4 representative and the 2024 Board Chair for the Spokane Board of County Commissioners. She proudly serves the citizens, towns and communities that make up Southeast Spokane County which include Spangle, Fairfield, Rockford, Waverly, Latah, Liberty Lake, Southern Spokane Valley, and the communities of Veradale, Valleyford and Mica.

Mary’s priorities center on fiscal budget responsibility, protecting public safety by supporting law enforcement, and investing in local infrastructure to keep our communities vibrant and moving. On a broader scope, Mary is the current 2024 Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) Past President, creating policy and lobbying for all 39 counties across the state in Olympia. Last December, as part of her service to WSAC, Mary was appointed to serve on the National Association of Counties’ (NACo) Board of Directors, representing all Washington counties before Congress and the Executive Branch in Washington, DC.

Mary is passionate about Fairchild Air Force Base and in February 2024, completed her term with the Air Force Civic Leader program of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC), representing the SERE school. As a Civic Leader, she advocates for our service members and their families. Mary is also a former Fairchild Honorary Base Commander of the 92nd Air Refueling Wing.
