Lunch and Learn: Intellectual Property Basics for Startups

Dan is a partner and Chair of the Corporate and IP Transactions Group at Lee & Hayes. Dan acts as outside general counsel to a wide variety of technology companies and advises clients in the areas of corporate, startup financing, trademark and brand protection, intellectual property strategy and commercialization, wine and beverage law, and commercial transactions.

Dan has a passion for helping startups and emerging companies navigate the complex business and legal landscape and can assist clients in every stage of the business lifecycle, from formation and financing to a successful exit. Dan also has considerable experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions in the areas of manufacturing, services, SaaS and technology development. In addition, Dan regularly counsels and assists clients with the strategic acquisition, protection, registration, commercialization and enforcement of all types of intellectual property assets. Dan is a frequent guest speaker at Gonzaga University and Washington State University and recently authored a textbook chapter on trademarks for college-level business students.
