GSI staff attend San Diego’s BIO conference

GSI staff attended the 2017 BIO conference, which took place in San Diego, Calif. June 19 – 22. The conference attracts biotechnology and pharma leaders for one week of networking, to discover new opportunities and partnerships.

GSI and HSSA staff participated with 11 other organizations from Washington state. The booth was one of more than 1,300 exhibitors at the BIO conference. The role was to promote Spokane as a great place for health and life sciences business, and the benefits of doing business in our region.

In addition to a life sciences audience, the convention included a “Startup Stadium,” where attendees could pitch a panel of investor judges and receive written feedback. Super Sessions also explored the latest on biotechnology’s hot button issues throughout the world.

A keynote at the conference included former United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron.

This year, more than 16,000 attendees from 74 countries and 48 states attended the conference, with 40,000 one-on-one partnering meetings taking place during the week-long event.
