Q. Is there a fee to apply?
A. Yes. There is a one-time $35 application fee to cover administrative costs. This fee is required each year if you choose to renew.
Q. Do I need to apply every year?
A. Yes. GSI Free Connect is an annual member partnership and must be reapplied for each year to ensure continued eligibility and engagement.
Q. Who is eligible for GSI Free Connect?
A. This program is designed for micro and underserved businesses in the Spokane region. Eligible applicants must be:
- A registered business (LLC, sole proprietorship, nonprofit, or other formal structure)
- Not affiliated with a larger parent company or national brand (such as franchises or branches of large insurance firms, which are not eligible)
Q. What’s included in a Free Connect member partnership?
A. Select GSI events, educational resources, visibility through our business directory, and connection to tools and support for growth (*please note: Free Connect member partners do not receive discounted event pricing or access to Peer Networking events reserved for paid partners)
Q. Can I upgrade my member partnership?
A. Yes! During your first year of participation, we’re offering an exclusive 25% discount on our next-tier paid membership for a limited time. Upgrade during the enrollment discount period to unlock more benefits, like enhanced visibility, event discounts, and access to programs, at a reduced rate.
Q. What happens if I grow beyond the Free Connect qualifications?
A. That’s great news! If your business grows beyond the eligibility criteria, we’ll work with you to transition to one of our paid member partnerships that better fit your evolving needs.
Q. Why was my application denied?
A. Applications may be denied if your business does not meet the eligibility criteria, if you don’t have a business license, or if your application is incomplete or inaccurate.
Q. Do I get the GSI Free Connect benefits if I’m already a GSI partner in one of the paid partner tiers?
A. Yes! You get these benefits plus so much more, including things like event discounts, additional visibility, sponsorship opportunities, job postings, ribbon cuttings, and more! If you have questions about your benefits, please contact us.
