On Wednesday, March 11, USDA Deputy Under Secretary Alexis Taylor visited Spokane. Following a tour of Spokane Seed, the Under Secretary hosted a roundtable on the importance of agricultural trade. The discussion focused on ensuring the US agriculture industry’s competitiveness in the international marketplace. The past five years have been the strongest in history for agricultural trade, with US agricultural exports totaling $675 billion since 2010. Strong agricultural exports contribute to a positive US trade balance, create jobs and boost economic growth. A Spokane Public Radio report on the Under Secretary’s visit can be heard here.
