GSI Names 2015 Armed Forces Persons of the Year: The Spokane regional community recognized the Armed Forces Persons of the Year and the winner of the Neal R. Fosseen award recently, celebrating our region’s outstanding military personnel during the “Let Freedom Ring” program at Greater Spokane Incorporated’s monthly Good Morning Greater Spokane event.
Greater Spokane Incorporated was honored to recognize the following people as the 2015 Armed Forces Persons of the Year: Senior Airman Nicole N. Holland; Petty Officer First Class Jed Kappus; Master Chief Valencia S. Moon; Petty Officer Third Class Lisa M. Torres; Technical Sergeant Katina R. Fraley; and Master Sergeant Dawn M. Traurig. GSI also awarded the 92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron the 2015 Neal R. Fosseen Base-Community Relationship Award.
Northwest Farm Credit elects three new directors: Stockholders of Spokane-based Northwest Farm Credit Services elected Susan Doverspike and Duane M. “Skip” Gray, and re-elected Jim Farmer to the Northwest FCS Board of Directors. Each will serve a five-year term.
Elaine Couture awarded with 2015 Leader in Healthcare Award: Elaine Couture, Regional Chief Executive at Providence Health Care, was recently named Outstanding Health Care Executive, Outside Puget Sound Region, by Seattle Business Magazine. Elaine’s persistent focus on change had led to many opportunities to serve eastern Washington more efficiently and at a lower cost, often by using services outside traditional hospitals. Those who nominated Elaine say this culture shift has Providence operating in a collaborative and results-driven environment.
YWCA CEO wins GU Women’s Law Caucus award: The Women’s Law Caucus at Gonzaga University’s School of Law named YWCA of Spokane CEO Regina Malveaux as the winner of the 2015 Myra Bradwell Award. The award is given annually to a woman who has made a difference in the lives of women and children.
TicketWest’s Lucas honored by industry group: Jack Lucas, president of TicketsWest and WestCoast Entertainment, was recently awarded the 2015 Joseph J. Anzivino Award from the International Association of Venue Managers. The annual award recognizes a member for “extraordinary contributions to the association and the professional venue management industry.” Lucas has worked in the industry for 38 years.
Spirit of NAWBO Award goes to Valley Chamber CEO: The Inland Northwest chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners recently presented the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Katherine Morgan, with its Spirit of NAWBO Award.
