GSI Members Celebrate Success!

Spokane HOPE School

Did you know Spokane is home to the region’s only listening and spoken language preschool for children with hearing loss? Located within the Washington State University/Eastern Washington University Hearing and Speech Clinic, the Spokane HOPE School (Hearing Oral Program of Excellence) offers comprehensive, state-of-the-art preschool for families who want their deaf and hard of hearing children to learn to listen and talk. Spokane HOPE School will celebrate their 10 Year Anniversary with an Open House this Thursday, November 6, at The HOPE School, 310 N. Riverpoint Blvd. from 4:30-6, with a Greater Spokane Incorporated ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:45. That’s a milestone worth celebrating!

Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest SSVF Please join GSI in congratulating Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest’s recent award of $4.2 million in funding to serve veterans who are homeless in our region. The Supportive Services for Veteran Families program (SSVF) is expanding into its second year, offering services to assist veterans and their families in obtaining and maintaining permanent housing. Work like this has a direct and immediate effect on the veterans who are served, but it also creates ripple effects of stability and strength throughout our entire community. On Monday, November 10, from 2-4, Goodwill staff, their partners and all who appreciate their work will gather in the Goodwill Board Room at 130 E. Third, downtown to celebrate the success of the program and recognize those men and women who have served our country.
