The Salvation Army of Spokane’s 11th Annual Backpacks for Kids

Volunteers Needed for The Salvation Army of Spokane’s 11th Annual Backpacks for Kids event: 4,000 FREE backpacks to be distributed to local students, grades K-12 With Washington State dealing with coronavirus, The Salvation Army of Spokane is still looking to get local students, grades K-12, back to school, or at least supplied, with the tools they need to learn no matter where they are. The Salvation Army will distribute 4,000 backpacks (with school supplies and face masks) from 9 am to 6 pm (or until all the backpacks have been given out) on August 12 at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center, 404 N. Havana St., Spokane Valley, 99202. Instead of an in-person event, this years distribution will be a social distancing, drive-through event and 400+ volunteers are needed. The Salvation Army is looking for traffic controllers, administrators (to help people fill out forms) and distributors to actually hand out the backpacks.
