Greater Spokane Incorporated Previews Advocacy Trip From Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. – Forty-six business, education and community leaders representing the greater Spokane and Northern Idaho region have made it to Washington D.C. to share with our federal legislative leaders the focus of our region.

Here’s Sandra Jarrard, GSI’s Public Policy Director, giving a quick preview of who we’re meeting with and the topics we’ll cover during the trip:

(Editor’s note: We won’t be meeting in THE White House but rather with White House staff in the Eisenhower Executive Building, which is right next to THE White House.)

Tomorrow (Wednesday) the delegation will meet with Representatives Denny Heck (D-WA), Raul Labrador (R-ID), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Patty Murray (D-WA) and Jim Risch (R-ID).

In addition to our federal lawmakers, the delegation will meet with Sam Ricketts, the Director of Governor Jay Inslee’s Washington D.C. office, Evan Schatz, the Staff Director for the Senate Budget Committee, and Phil Moeller of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

And that’s just Wednesday!

We’ll be back tomorrow night with news from our Wednesday meetings and preview the delegation’s Thursday schedule.
