Our business development team works to position the Spokane region to attract, retain, and support businesses. Creating business investments in our region leads to well-paying jobs and a vibrant economy. Since 2010, GSI has assisted 115 companies in either expanding locally or relocating to our community. These companies have created 5,209 jobs, more than $1.6 billion in annual economic impact to our community, and a total construction impact of $771 million. Business Retention, Expansion, and Assistance
GSI assists local companies with their expansion project, from site selection and infrastructure needs, finding and applying for tax incentives and financial programs, addressing workforce and training issues and more. GSI also supports businesses with finding solutions to regulatory or permitting issues they may be facing and provides cost comparision analysis with other communities.
GSI's Procurement Technical Assistance Center provides assistance to companies looking to do business with the government and teaches you how to get started, how to register, provides guidance on solicitations and bidding and understanding the requirements and marketing know-how to do business with the government.
Startup Spokane is a program of GSI that connects you to the resources you need to launch and grow successful companies. Startup has a number of free programs and events for startups, entrepreneurs or those just thinking about starting a business. Some of the programs include a coworking space on 2nd Ave in Spokane, business mentors to help guide you, one-on-one counseling, networking events and a Mind-2-Market program focused on commercializing viable, scalable ideas.
