During this Lunch & Learn Brett Nelson, partner at Lee & Hayes, will lead a discussion on the tools available to you, common legal mistakes that startups make and how to avoid them, what is possible to do on your own, and when you should seek professional guidance.

Meet the Speaker:

Brett Nelson is a patent attorney and partner at Lee & Hayes, PC. He advises clients in a variety of intellectual property (IP) matters, has helped his clients develop comprehensive IP strategies and has been instrumental in a number of his clients gaining allowance of key foundational patents within their technology areas. Brett has worked as a research scientist at a small biotech company, a patent examiner, inhouse counsel for a large company, and played major roles in building the Chemical & Life Sciences and Asia practice groups at Lee & Hayes. He is admitted to practice law in the states of Maryland, Tennessee, and Washington and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
