Healthcare Discoveries Pathways night
The East Valley School District and ESD101 in partnership with Area Health Education Center and The Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS) are hosting a Healthcare Pathways Night on Wednesday, May 1st at East Valley High School located at 15711 E. Wellesley Ave., Spokane Valley, WA from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Healthcare Pathways Night exposes young people to different healthcare trades and career paths. Attendees will meet representatives from local organizations, including Inland Northwest Research, Inland Imaging, American Medical Response, CHAS and Vitalant, to learn and do some hands on activities that will expose them to these career pathways.
For students who may not have an immediate college pathway in mind, this event is a great opportunity for a hands on experience from licensed professionals in the field on the many jobs skills that are offered in healthcare. Some of the careers represented by participants at this event (e.g., medical, pharmacy, nursing, imaging/ultrasound, research, paramedic/EMT, phlebotomy, street medicine and more) is a perfect opportunity to gain access to the healthcare field, gauge long-term interest, and earn while they learn.
As the school year draws to a close, this event provides important knowledge for students evaluating post-graduation plans in the Inland Northwest region.
