Greater Spokane Inc. Welcomes New Public Policy Director

(SPOKANE, Wash.) – Greater Spokane Inc. (GSI), welcomes Jake Mayson as its new Public Policy Director for the organization. Jake will serve as an organizational leader and strategist to convene and advance public policy and legislative priorities in support of economic development initiatives and the greater Spokane region.

Jake was born on the Olympic Peninsula, raised in the North Puget Sound, and went to high school in Kennewick, WA before relocating to Los Alamos, NM with his family for his father’s job in the commercial construction industry.

Returning to his home state to attend WSU, Jake studied Political Science before beginning his career as a staffer in the Washington State Senate and managing political races in King County. Jake moved to lobbying in 2017 where he worked on a team to represent the interests of, among others, Associated Builders and Contractors, the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the Association of Dental Support Organizations. After two successful legislative sessions, he moved on to become Director of a Political Action Committee focused on municipal government and the Government Affairs Director for the Central Washington Home Builders Association.

“I look forward to fostering a vibrant and competitive business community as GSI’s Director of Public Policy and calling beautiful Spokane home,” said Jake. “I’m excited to explore Spokane and all it has to offer – including skiing, golf, rock climbing, and the local beer and wine industry.”
