New Public Affairs Director

(SPOKANE, Wash.) –Greater Spokane Inc. (GSI) welcomes Cara Coon to the organization as Public Affairs Director. Cara brings with her a wealth of experience in government affairs and policy management, corporate communications, and public relations.

As Public Affairs Director, Cara will lead GSI’s public policy efforts to advance local, state, and federal advocacy on behalf of the business community and the Spokane region. Cara will collaborate with GSI’s state and federal lobbyists and work in coordination with its Public Policy Council to address local business climate issues, and develop state and federal agendas. Cara will also help coordinate the Spokane region’s two advocacy trips to Olympia and Washington D.C., which gives the Spokane region a greater voice on issues and projects, and attracts dollars to the community.

Cara is a Spokane native.  She previously served as the Government Affairs Director at Umpqua Bank, and as the Communications & Public Affairs Director at Sterling Bank prior to that.  She is a graduate of Eastern Washington University and serves on the board of Pride Prep and the Governor’s Washington Economic Development Finance Authority board.
