Episode 16: Creative Entrepreneurship Spotlight – Ginger Ewing and Alan Chatham – Window Dressing & The Laboratory

Alan Chatham, Ginger Ewing, Steve Trabun, and Ryan Arnold Discussing Creativity and Entrepreneurship on Spokane Talks Online

If you caught us on Episode 15, we kicked off a new series on creative entrepreneurship with Caleb and Karli Ingersoll, prominent Spokane duo who own The Bartlett.

For episode 16, we’re continuing our creative entrepreneurship focus and sitting down with Ginger Ewing and Alan Chatham, Executive Director of Window Dressing and Curator of Laboratory Spokane, respectively.

Window Dressing is a storefront gallery program that celebrates Spokane’s art and artists by filling vacant buildings and unused spaces with short-term exhibits and pop-up events, while Laboratory provides space, support and a unique artist residency program for interactive art in Spokane. Both are having a unique impact on not only the look of Spokane, but also the cultural fabric of the city.

Listen in as we chat with Ginger and Alan about:

  • How Window Dressing and Laboratory got their starts, and how these programs are changing the face of downtown Spokane.
  • Why “Creative Entrepreneurship” differs from other flavors of entrepreneurship, and how receptive Spokane is to “creatives”
  • How art and entrepreneurship have similar roots in creativity
